Catholic Christian Communities Donates $2000 to Sumter Regional Hospital
Posted 07/19/2007
Catholic Christian Communities joined the effort to support Sumter Regional Hospital by donating $2000 to the hospital's Foundation.

The check represents donations from the following Catholic institutions: St. Mary's Catholic Church of Americus, Saint Teresa's Catholic School in Albany, Albany Deanery Council of Catholics in Cleveland (GA), Knights of Columbus Council in Americus and Father Kennedy Council 4913 of Valdosta.

"Our council was asked to serve to determine where this contribution could best serve the community of Americus, which suffered a catastrophic tornado on March 1 2007,” said Chet Crowley, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.   “Our hospital is the footprint of our community, and the rebuilding of the SRH medical community is in the upper most interest of our community.  As a result, we are very pleased to be present this check towards that goal.”

Here, Crowley and Ron Akerman, Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus, present the check to SRH employees in front of the Interim facility display of Sumter Regional East, which is set to open later this year.
