Americus Residents Help Raise $7,800 for Sumter Regional Hospital
Posted 04/30/2007
Two Americus residents joined the list of contributors to Sumter Regional Hospital's Indestructible campaign by raising $7,800 to the hospital's Foundation.  The money will aid SRH with operational expenses that will help continue to provide access to healthcare in our community.

Ruth Jones told the story of her hometown hospital to her sister in New Orleans, who then relayed the story to her book club.  The book club raised $1100 and sent the check to Ms. Jones to aid the hospital.

Ms. Jones then teamed up with Betty Ann Pope for an art show fundraiser at the Maze for the hospital, and this event raised $6700.  There are still art pieces available; for more information, please call (229) 928-9688.

Here, Ms. Jones and Ms. Pope present the monies raised to SRH President & CEO David Seagraves.  They both wanted to do something for the hospital because they recognize its importance to the community.
