Win an MRI
As you know by now, the contest ended Monday night with Sumter Regional capturing over 260,000 votes and attaining a lead of better than 101,000 votes over the second-place hospital.  According to information from Siemens, an independent auditing firm is now validating the vote count and Siemens will formally notify the winner on or before January 12, with a public announcement on the contest website on January 18.  Thanks so much to everyone who voted or encouraged others to vote, and stay tune for a formal announcement in the coming weeks.

SRHEast Construction
Construction inside SRHEast continues at a good pace, and it appears that they are about 85-90% of the way complete. Rooms and hallways have been painted and a number of the rooms have had the tile flooring installed.  Additionally, the ceiling tiles are going up in a lot of places and plumbing fixtures, such as toilets and sinks, are being placed and connected.  While there is still a lot of work to do before construction is done, it is exciting to see us getting closer and closer to the point where we can begin moving the equipment in.

SRH Demolition
The folks who have been busy pulling various pieces of equipment out of the basement of the building are nearly done, and that would allow demolition of the 1999 building on a larger scale to resume.  We expect that this would begin in the next few days to a week, and would continue for the next four to six months.  We have just mounted several cameras around the perimeter of the property to capture the demolition as it happens, and are working on a link from the internet so that you can log on and watch when you want an update.

Patient Counts
During the week from 12/24 through 12/30, we saw 676 people in the Urgent Care or Outpatient Services building. This was the fourth slowest week since we opened the blue tents, with all of the other three coming in the first five weeks that we were open. The Oncology Clinic worked with 81 people, and the Rehab team helped 36 patients, making a total of 793 people served overall.

So far, in 300 days of operations, we've seen 21,920 people through Outpatient Services and 16,227 people through Urgent Care.  In 186 days of the Oncology Clinic's operations, we've provided 711 chemotherapy treatments and 3,422 non-chemotherapy treatments.  In 169 days of Rehab, we've done 1,669 physical therapy treatments, 333 occupational therapy treatments, and 194 speech therapy treatments, for a grand total of 44,476 patient encounters.
