Update – Wednesday, December 12, 2007 Win an MRI As of Wednesday morning, we had received over 188,200 votes and were increasing steadily. One development is that Grant Regional Medical Center of Lancaster, Wisconsin has overtaken Lockport Memorial (NY) for second place. Let's amp up our voting to make sure they know that second place will be the highest they get! We anticipate, based on our voting trends, that we should receive our 200,000th vote on Monday 12/17. Like we did for the 100,000th vote, print the screen and email it to our PR department at srhmarketing@hotmail.com if it is you! First Strike Raffle The SRH Foundation is holding a raffle to select the person who will pull the lever that will cause the claw to remove the first small section of the 1999 building outside the Physicians' Office Building entrance. Raffle tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at Hospice, Citizens Bank, SB&T, Wachovia, First State Bank, People's Community Bank, and Clinic Drug Store. On the raffle ticket will be a place for you to put your name and contact information and whether you would be interested in purchasing any bricks from the demolished building. Monies raised from the raffle will go through the Foundation to purchase equipment for the OB/Labor unit. For more info on the raffle, please call the Marketing & PR Department at (229) 928-4000. SRH Demolition Kickoff We will formally begin the demolition process with a ceremony at Noon on Wednesday 12/19, during which time SRH President & CEO David Seagraves will make a few remarks and SRH VP of Nursing Susie Fussell will spend a few minutes talking about how the hospital has served the community over the years, and other groups will make comments. We will also have the Auxiliary members present to hand out homemade cookies, and the Americus Sumter County High School Singers will do a few musical selections. Then, the individual drawn from the raffle will pull the handle and the claw will pull down the first small section of the wall. Patient Counts Last week, the Urgent Care facility had another lighter-than-average week by seeing 403 patients. Outpatient Services saw 594 patients, and the Oncology Clinic saw 126 folks. When you add in the 55 patients seen by Rehab, we saw 1,178 people in all this past week, our twelfth busiest week out of the forty weeks that we've been open. We've now seen over 41,000 people in all since the blue tents opened on 3/5. Urgent Care saw their 15,000th patient on Friday 12/7 last week, and Rehab saw their 2,000th patient on Wednesday 12/5. Starting Point Sumter Regional Hospital is now accepting entrants for its “Starting Point” program, which is designed to teach better eating habits, weight management and overall health and fitness. For more information, please call (229) 924-6935 ext 2030 or 2031. Again, please understand that this communication is intended to be a rough update and is not intended to be a final determination of short-term or long-term plans. Also, please be flexible, as things do change frequently and oftentimes with little warning. |
